Cutest café ever! Nashoba Brook Bakery, located in West Concord, is a delicious bakery and café with the most relaxing, cozy atmosphere. As soon as you think you’ve seen it all, something special comes along. It was great to be welcomed to the café with a viewing area of the staff making the bread and welcoming artwork as you find your way to order some goodies.
Nashoba Brook Bakery has a little something for everyone, the loafs of bread with all the accessories every localvore dreams of from jams, peanut butter, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and more. The café has many tables with chairs, but also offers couches and armchairs in the back corner for some reading and relaxing. But the best part is outside, where they have a deck along with some tables and benches where you can enjoy your food and look at the beautiful scenery, including a footbridge. Perfect for a summer or fall day!!
The lunch menu is full of specialty sandwiches or you can build your own sandwich on their freshly made bread (seriously this bread is amazing). Soups and salads are made fresh daily and there is definitely something to satisfy your sweet tooth. As a sucker for prosciutto, I chose #6, parma prosciutto with fresh mozzarella and basil aioli on a plain ficelle, along with a pickle and an iced coffee.
The food was delicious and the atmosphere fantastic, however, one of the best features of the café is its philosophy. The breads are considered “slow rise” using homemade, local yeast. The yeast is made from local, wild Concord grapes and then the breads take about 24 hours to rise. Not only does this process enhance the flavor, but makes the bread more easily digested. This process is also a symbol of the old saying “anything worth having is worth waiting for” and that is what Nashoba Brook Bakery believes in.
Like any hidden gem should be, Nashoba Brook Bakery is tucked away in West Concord. Make it a point to stop by real soon. Nashoba Brook Bakery is not to be missed. See you there soon!
